Programme

Our first Coll Connections festival includes a welcome ceilidh, concerts, and plenty of opportunities to join sessions and make music with other participants. There will be song and mixed instrument workshops throughout the the three days of the festival, with Roo Geddes, Neil Sutcliffe and Corrina Hewat.  We’ll also create some free time to explore our beautiful island, informally or with a local island guide.

The festival events will run from early afternoon on Saturday 19th to Tuesday 22nd around lunchtime. If you’re planning on coming to Coll by ferry the early morning boat on the Saturday will get you here in plenty time for the first workshops. On Tuesdays there’s a late boat that will leave after our events have finished.

Workshops

Song

Led by Corrina Hewat, the material will be predominantly Scottish with influences from all over. No reading music is needed – we’ll learn by ear, and there will be notes to take away with you.

Mixed instrument

We’ll have two levels of mixed instrument workshops – an easier level for those who are new to playing in mixed instrument groups, or who prefer a slower pace of learning, and a faster group for more confident players. These workshops will be led by Roo Geddes and Neil Sutcliffe
