Coll Connections 2026 is finally over. The festival stretched on for a few unexpected extra days when a storm put paid to boats arriving over the weekend. We ended with a final session in the Urchin on Sunday evening. The festival again brought people together in a beautiful location that has superb facilities for such an event.

“Really quite magical. I enjoyed the communal eating too – baked tatties are a keeper. The Sing around is great for giving singers a safe space to try out public solo singing ahead of the house ceilidhs. Well done to Ros and the team, and the whole island really, kudos for what you’ve all achieved.”

Word cloud created from participant feedback 2026

“I am grateful for every moment that I was able to spend on Coll and at the festival! I am already planning for next year!”

In 2026 we introduced a variety of optional workshops. These weren’t included in the price of the festival ticket, and gave participants a chance to try some different things – singers had an opportunity to learn a Gaelic song or learn about singing techniques, and instrumentalists joined workshops covering harmonising and improvising, learning to play by ear, how to accompany tunes and songs. There were also very popular early morning yoga and pilates sessions, and a wildlife walk to introduce people to some of the flora and fauna commonly spotted on the island.

“Loved singing techniques on the Sunday with Corrina which was a wonderful introduction to her and what to expect, I wasn’t disappointed. I also joined the pilates and yoga classes which were excellent and a great start to the day. I was impressed by the organisation of the event. The experience was varied and entertaining”

Coll is an island that’s known for its friendliness – in our second year there were many more connections forged between visitors and those who live in Coll, as we shared music in workshops, house ceilidhs and sessions. What a week!
