We’re absolutely delighted that Anna Massie and Fin Moore will be joining our tutor team for Coll Connections 2027.

Anna Massie

Equally at home as accompanist or melody player, Anna Massie is one of the trad world’s foremost guitarists. Although well known for her guitar-playing skills, Anna is also an accomplished fiddle player. As well as being a skilled multi-instrumentalist who plays with with Blazin’ Fiddles and RANT, she also presents BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning flagship trad music programme, Travelling Folk.

Four-time nominee for Best Instrumentalist at the Scots Trad Music Awards, 2021 winner of the Trad Music in the Media award for her Black Isle Correspondent work and 2022 Producer of the Year award, Anna is a highly talented musician, presenter and producer.

 

 

Fin Moore

Fin Moore is a piper, born & bred. He plays the Highland pipes, Border pipes and Scottish Small Pipes. For five years, he played in the Vale of Atholl Juvenile Band and is now working with his father, Hamish, as very successful pipe makers. They have made nearly 1000 sets of pipes. Their pipes are played all over the world and appear on dozens of recordings. Fin is currently playing with Dannsa, and Sarah Hoy as part of a fiddle and pipes duo.  Fin has a delightful swingy playing style and loves sharing his insights into playing well.  He’s also been practising his step dancing, which means he can sometimes be seen giving a step or two!

 

 

Corrina Dawn

Corrina Dawn (formerly Hewat), harper and singer, has been playing professionally for 30 years, rooted in traditional Scottish tunes and songs. She grew up in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by music, art and stories in an expansive landscape which shaped her musical narrative.  Corrina now directs the Scots Folk choir Sangstream, co-directs the children’s theatre company DragonSong Productions and is also one of the musicians who compiled the “Folk Tunes from the Women”. Co-founder of The Unusual Suspects Big Band and Bachue with David Milligan and trios Grace, Hewat, Polwart; Shine; Chantan, she has worked with the very best of folk and has a gentle and rare way of coaxing the very best out of you – your voice, body, breath, into some good harmony sings.
